The Origin b2 Detector is a GPS based speed camera detector with laser alert as standard. Optionally a radar detection unit will be available as an upgrade later for £99.95.

This titanium-coloured unit is smaller and lighter than a pack of playing cards. The unit has a large, high resolution 128 x 64 pixel, backlit display screen.
It takes its power directly from a small multi-adjustable cradle, making the unit easy to attach and detach. Just one wire comes from the cradle. The wire can be adjusted to come out of either side of the cradle for ease of installation. The wire goes into a special harness, (positioned out of sight) which has small plugs to attach the power lead, remote GPS antenna, laser detector, and optional radar detector modules.

Buying Origin from unauthorised dealers can and will invalidate any warranties. Look for the logo (left) to ensure you are covered when you buy.

Warns of all safety cameras (Gatso, Truvelo, SPECS, DS2 Speedmaster)

Alerts for accident blackspots/Congestion Charging Cameras (time sensitive) & schools (time sensitive) (alerts may be switched off by user)

Alerts for user defined, personal locations

Limitator feature - sounds warnings only if the user is exceeding the prevailing speed limit

Limitator feature – fixed-position warnings issued only if the user is exceeding the prevailing speed limit

Motorway feature – warnings issued only for fixed speed traps which are sited on the motorway network

Unit may also be affixed without mounting bracket on top/front of dash.

GPS antenna positioned at the rear of the device; this is removable so it may be positioned remotely from the Origin blue i unit (optional long extension lead kit required)

Supplied with external modem to facilitate speed trap data updates

Future software improvements downloadable via modem

Software for radar detector module reduces false alerts: no alerts issued under 30mph or under 70mph on motorways, no alerts issued for radar signals emanating from Gatso cameras on the opposite carriageway
